After Brexit, the situation related to relocations is slightly more complicated and requires completing the Transfer of Residence procedure in order to avoid import VAT (21% of the total value) on the property moved to the Netherlands.

\u2022 A certificate issued by a local government in the Netherlands confirming your place of residence, or if an EU customs agent agrees, then you only need to provide a document confirming that you are an EU resident or intend to become one;
\u2022 A detailed bill of lading with the value, size and weight of each item listed;
\u2022 British residence certificate<\/a>\u00a0 or other evidence that you have lived in the UK for at least the last 12 months (e.g. 12 months of council tax bills or bank statements showing your address);
\u2022 A declaration to the customs authorities that you have used the household items at your usual place of residence in the UK for more than six months and that you will not sell, rent or pawn them once you receive them in your new place, and that you intend to remain an EU resident for at least one year.
\u2022 Signed authorization for the customs clearance agent to act on your behalf.<\/p>

Print and sign all required documents and have them ready for the driver before collecting your property and, for safety, also send them electronically.<\/p>

Another important document is the CMR form, which our driver will provide you to complete on the day of the move.<\/p>
